First, I am very thankful for how easy it is for our family to spend time outside right now. I’ve attached a picture of the campsite my kids have created on an island behind our house. They’ve slept out there 3 of the last 4 nights. But, I’m really concerned for how this is impacting so many of the individuals and families Waypoint serves who already battled isolation. Waypoint is creatively working on ways to support folks who want to get outside on their own during this season. We also know that there will be an even greater need for Waypoint’s services once this is over.
I am also worried about how canceling our fundraiser will impact donations and during this season and for how long we’ll have to wait until we can start leading programs/generating revenue again. We are going to be sending emails and sharing on social media much of the messaging we hoped to communicate at that event. You can help us by sharing whenever you feel it’s appropriate.
